How to participate
The ACMK student competition is aimed at engaging Construction Management
Students across Kenyan Universities by challenging them to apply knowledge acquired
academically into solving real time project issues.
ACMK intends to have this competition annually as a way of contributing to the
student’s body of knowledge and more importantly bridging the gap between class
theory and practical experience.
This year’s competition, as will be the case in all future years will involve all universities
offering the programme. They include;-
• The University of Nairobi
• Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology
• Kenyatta University
• Technical University of Kenya
• Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University
At ACMK, we aim at ensuring that the Construction Management and Construction Project management professionals are recognized and their impact felt in the construction industry. I encourage more people to join this body.
Construction management is a diverse discipline focused on the delivery of projects that compose the world’s built environment. Included are the determination of project requirements, management of design, procurement, and management of the construction of the project within cost, time, and design parameters.
he Vision of the Department is To be a leading centre of professional training in real estate, quantity surveying and construction management while our Mission is To train top notch professionals in the disciplines of Real Estate, Quantity Surveying and Construction Management through teaching, research, consultancies and industrial linkages.
Since joining ACMK, I have been able to attend several seminars and workshops that have really assisted me in the construction industry. I have been able to interact with construction professionals who offer very wise advice and also gives the best recommendation concerning the construction management industry.
Being a member of ACMK has given me opportunities to explore the vast field of Construction Management. From mentoring up-coming construction management students in universities and colleges to attending professional seminars. The association helps the professionals discover new roles in the construction industry.
ACMK is a well organized association that is placed to help and assist construction managers and construction project managers to achieve their full potential by being recognized by a body which is registered and acknowledged by the laws of Kenya. Keep it up guys.
